A BULLY AT CHIPMUNK ACADEMY
Candy the Chipmunk is not a tattle-tale! She is bullied but she is keeping it a secret. When Candy Crum gets off the school bus, she goes straight to her bedroom, skipping the evening meals. She's a sweet chipmunk that does not like to fight and does not snitch on her classmates. After so many tears, Candy decides to tell her mom. Momma teaches her that 'telling' is the right and heroic thing to do; it protects all kids and assures everyone's safety. How does the story end?

How should a child respond to bullying?
Early childhood often marks the first opportunity for little ones to interact with each other. Between the ages of 3 and 6, kids are learning how to get along with each other, cooperate, share, and understand their feelings. Young children may be aggressive and act out when they are angry or don’t get their way, but this is not bullying. Still, there are so many ways to help children.
Helping Young Children Get Along with Others
Parents, school employees and other adults can help young children develop skills for getting along with others in age-appropriate ways. Encourage young children to make friends. Practice ways that children can ask to join others in playtime and take turns in games. Set clear rules for behavior – monitor kids interactions carefully. Be quick to step in to stop aggressive behavior. Young children should be encouraged to say, I’m Sorry’ whenever he/she hurts a peer, even accidentally. Learn the steps involved in empowering young kids to help stop and prevent bullying!
